Nail penetration test

The nail penetration test is regarded as one of the most rigorous way to test the thermal runaway of batteries. The purpose is to simulate an internal short circuit of battery usually caused by external sharp metal objects penetrating the battery in a severe traffic accident.
While passing the nail penetration test, the Blade Battery did not emit smoke or fire after being penetrated, and its surface temperature only reached 30 to 60°C.
